Ko Olina Beach

Ko Olina Beach is a pleasant place to go for a swim with your kids. The water is calm and it's nice to play and build sand castles on the shore. There are some grass-shack shade umbrellas on the sand and there's shade under the trees on the grass by the beach. The crescent of the beach is perfectly symmetrical because its manmade. It's a little barren and fake-looking, but if you can make a nice beach where there was none before, why not! There are four lagoons that are all the same.
Like in Waikiki, the weather on this side of the island is generally better than it is in other spots, so it's a good place to come when it's raining everywhere else. Even though this resort is kind of "in the middle of nowhere" it's pleasant. Come early because the parking fills up fast.

Ko Olina Resort is located at 92-1480 Aliinui Drive, Kapolei HI 96707. Follow the H1 Freeway toward Waianae. You will see signs to Ko Olina. Follow the signs. Once you enter the resort, take any of the side streets marked with signs such as "Lagoon #2" There are four lagoons and I assume all of them have parking. Lagoon 2 is the one that we visited most recently. At the end of the street there is a public parking area marked "shoreline park users parking." Parking is very limited so you have to come early to get a spot.
There are clean restrooms.
