Orlando Museum of Art, Loch Haven Park

Orlando Museum of Art is in a modern building with large windows. Outside there is a fountain and an unusual set of sculptures, like people standing oddly around. Inside there is a fascinating exhibit of Peruvian and Costa Rican objects, such as jewelry, goblets, and architectural decorations, made of gold, stone, and turquoise. They are so beautiful, and from so long ago! I had never seen archaeological objects from these countries before.
The traveling exhibits can be fantastic at this museum. I saw a large exhibit by Maya Lin that were truly inspiring.
The Orlando Museum of Art is in a museum park called Loch Haven Park where you can find the excellent Orlando Science Center, which is especially nice for kids, and the Mennello Museum of American Art which contains folk art by Earl Cunningham, but was closed during open hours when I came. Outside the Mennello Museum of American Art is a modern-art sculpture garden on the lake which you can walk around for free. A bike path runs through it, plus a map showing good routes for biking around Orlando.
