Phipps Ocean Park, Palm Beach, Palm Beach FL

Description

Less than two miles north of Lake Worth Pier is Phipps Ocean Park. This beach is secluded during the weekdays. Because sand restoration programs are not carried out at this beach like at most beaches in Palm Beach County, the shore is often rocky. It's fun for kids to dip their toes in the tiny rock pools- but beware of waves! There is a lifeguard, and there are restrooms and showers.
There are two parking lots. You can park for free in some of the spaces in the southernmost lot! Between the lots are tennis courts.
There are some walking paths with occasional trees for shade beside the beach, at the top of the dune that leads up to the beach. There are also grass shack picnic areas with ocean views!
The beach is sloped which makes it kind of difficult for walking.
After your visit, have lunch just half a mile south at Palm Beach Par-3 Municipal Golf Course. They have a lovely plantation-style building right on the water with a gorgeous cafe, Al Fresco, upstairs! The restaurant is casual and you can dine on the huge balcony while looking out on the ocean!
