Grantville Neighborhood Park has a good feel to it. The blue rubber mulch combined with the moat of sand that surround the playground make for a cool effect. The playground sits high on a hill overlooking the little valleys of inland San Diego. Kids can climb up a vertical climby and take in the view. On the upper level, there are two play structures. Another play area with bouncy horses, swings, and a slide sits at the base of the park among lush grass. Eucalyptus trees add a pretty effect. There are no restrooms.
Allied Gardens Community Park nearby is older and rundown but has some nice animal sculptures to climb and different types of play equipment, for a change of scene.
Grantville Neighborhood Park is located at 4601 Vandever Ave, San Diego, CA 92120.
From Waring Rd, go west on Zion Ave. Turn left on Crawford St and once you see the park on the left, park you car along the road.
