Gorgeous little St Peter's Catholic Church is a tiny wooden church with tiny wood pews all painted a perfect blue-green. In the front is a clear glass window with a white-stained painting of Jesus walking on the water reaching out to Peter. The lovely thing about it is that the line of the sea's horizon outside the church makes the line of the sea in the picture on the stained glass!
It is interesting that this chapel was built alongside a heiau, an ancient Hawaiian religious site.
Mass is at 7:30am on Saturdays.
While you're right here, check out Kahalu'u Beach, next to the church, where you can have an amazing warm swim and snorkel amongst tropical fish of all colors and varieties!
Take Ali'i Drive south from Kailua-Kona. The church is located just next to Kahalu'u Beach, north of the Mile 5 marker.
