Since Wildwood Park is called wild wood and there's a waterfall at the end of the hike, it makes you think it's going to be a lovely shady hike, but it's far from it! The trail is extremely hot and exposed the entire way until the very end when you reach the falls and you find a tiny bit of shade from the cliff. I assume the hike must be nicer than other places in the area though, because there were dozens of poor souls embarking on it on the hot February day that we intended to hike it. Come early in the day to avoid sunburn and to find a parking spot. The dramatic shape of the landscape would be nice in the early light of day, when the lack of shade wouldn't matter. It's 1.2 miles (half an hour) to the falls, and exposed all the way until the end.

Just a minute's drive from Wildwood hike is a great space-age playground called Wildflower Playground.
After, walk around Janss Marketplace with its lovely musical fountain, colorful flower beds, imaginative little kids play area, and Toys R Us store.
