Celebration Lakeside Park walking path, Orlando FL

Description

Celebration, the town created by Disney, has a paved running/walking path that leads through gorgeous Florida jungly vegetation. There are wooden boardwalks through the really jungly parts, plus paths around a large lake. You pass anhinga birds drying their wings, funny birds swimming underwater and popping their heads up, and croaking Pig Frogs (listen to frog sounds here). The path leads a long way and is in the shade- it's a real blessing in an area (SW Orlando) with few places to walk.
There are many different side paths you can take in the neighborhood, dedicated paths with no cars. But the main path leads from Celebration Lakeside Path to East Crescent Park, and is 1.3 miles in each direction.
You will pass runners, many retired people, tourists, and a few families with strollers.
After, have a break at Starbucks or Sweet Escape Bakery (its pastries are a bit too sweet) in Celebration Town Center.
For a great playground with a space net, rock-climbing wall, tire swing, and see saw, check out Spring Park Playground.
On the weekend, come early in the day to beat the crowds and easily find a parking spot. This way you can beat the heat as well!
Hold hands with your child when walking here because there are lots of alligators! I have seen one every day I have walked here, and sometimes two!
