On a rainy day, it's lovely to drive to the end of H. H. Burch Road and watch the boats go by on the river, from your car. This is a dock near Riverwood RV Park.

On a sunny day, check out nearby River Breeze Park, where you will find a playground with plenty of swings, and picnic pavilions, near the river but without the view, which is blocked by trees. You must head over the short boardwalk to see the river view. Here there is plenty of space to check out the water underneath you, framed by a circular boardwalk. There is a large wooden deck with two separate areas on each end of the circle, where fishermen try their luck.
This is a beautiful place that makes you feel alive to nature.
There are many new home complexes being built in this sleepy area, and the town of New Smyrna Beach is a 20 minute drive north.
Another nice place to check out in New Smyrna town is Riverside Park, with a gorgeous wooden playground, a Greek pavilion full of history, and plenty of people fishing on the river.
