Catos Bridge, Jupiter Island, Palm Beach FL

Description

Catos Bridge is the bridge that leads from Jupiter Lighthouse to Jupiter Island. It's a beautiful spot to look down on crystal clear water and smooth rocks under the water. From the Jupiter Island side you can see fantastic views of the lighthouse and a little mangrove island. Watch kayakers and stand-up paddlers row by. You have to come on a winter or overcast day as there is no shade and it can be very hot. Also, there is noise each time a car drives over the bridge. The forest and little fence are very lovely as you walk from the lighthouse parking to the bridge. There are silvery palmetto bushes, thatch palms, and wildflowers, plus a banyan tree. And there are plenty of views of the lighthouse beyond the trees. Such a pretty lighthouse!
You can also walk below Catos bridge. There is a path on the southwest side (the lighthouse side) of the bridge but you have to walk on some grass to get to the path. It is a small path to the intracoastal where you stand below Catos Bridge. Continue along the wood chip trail and you will be on the Jupiter Lighthouse Coast Guard Trail
After, check out the little picnic area in front of the lighthouse museum.
Also, you can cross Beach Rd and walk the Jupiter Lighthouse Natural Area where there are cute animals prints in the cement path and a gazebo on the intracoastal.
After, have a coffee in Tequesta town.
