For all of the month of October, you will find interesting scarecrows in front of businesses in Cambria and San Simeon! It's fun to check them out, especially the beautifully artistic ones! Cambria is divided into Cambria East (on the east end of Main Street, which also has Burton Drive and Bridge Street), Cambria West (the west end of Main Street), and Moonstone Beach Drive (the coastal area).

The best scarecrows are on Burton Drive: at the Cambria Historical Society, dressed in historical dress on the front porch. The society also has a scarecrow gardener, and two Raggedy Ann doll scarecrows! The most beautiful scarecrow is an elegant lady outside Spellbound Gift Shop on Burton Drive, and a similar, amazing one outside the Luxe Ranch clothing store across from Rigdon House on Burton Drive.
I only checked out the scarecrows in Cambria East, the most scenic and walkable part of Cambria. But here are some other scarecrows to check out:
There is an app and map to help you find the scarecrows. Here is a 1.5 mile walk you can do to see all the scarecrows in Cambria East and Cambria West: If you start at Creekside Inn on Main Street in Cambria East, you can walk west along Main Street to see them all, taking a detour to look at the scarecrows on lovely Burton Drive, a detour through the parking lot at Santa Rosa Catholic Church, and a detour on Cambria Drive in Cambria West to look at the Cambria Scarecrow Festival Office display, ending on Main Street just past the Shell gas station (look up in the trees at this point). If you want to walk the whole of Main Street in this way, come early in the day because it is quite exposed in the no-mans-land area (barren strip of highway) between Cambria East and Cambria West.
Now drive to 6710 Moonstone Beach Drive and park your car. Walk on the sidewalk in front of the hotels to see more scarecrows.
Drive north to San Simeon town and find scarecrows on the streets on either side of Highway 1, including Elvis at the Friends of the Elephant Seals Office, and on the other side of the highway, Fantastical Cove at the San Simeon Bar and Grill.
Also, south of Cambria, there is a spooky scarecrow of Edgar Allen Poe at the historic post office in the tiny town of Harmony.
Some spots with scarecrows that you need to do by car: Cambria Nursery and Florist (a wonderful stop not to be missed!), Cambria Dog Park (near Burton Drive), and The Spot and Luigi's Pizza on Knollwood Drive (up a steep hill on your right as you near Cambria West), and El Colibri Hotel (on the way to Moonstone Beach Drive).
It's not really possible to see all the scarecrows in one day. If you love scarecrows, you should spend two days here! Collect them all haha!
