Description
Franklin Park is a small neighborhood park with a lawn, shady trees, and some swings. It's a pretty spot to walk to if you live nearby. Playing ball is fun here because of the long, flat lawn.
Another neighborhood park here is Memorial Park, a somewhat barren playground beside picnic areas under nice shady trees, located on a cul-de-sac. For my favorite park, check out El Carro Park, a playground with four slides and gorgeous mountain views. While in the area, take a walk in Downtown Carpinteria and pop into the surf stores. You can walk from there all the way down to Carpinteria Beach and Tar Pits, a great place to explore nature. Another place where nature is alive and well is the Seal Rookery in Carpinteria, where mother seals nurture their babies in a protected cove. Monte Vista Park is a playground near there.
