Lane Farms Pumpkin Patch, Santa Barbara California

Description

It's super fun to bring your kids to the Lane Farms Pumpkin Patch and feel like you're in the countryside somewhere in the middle of America. You will be in the spirit of harvest time when you leave. At the Pumpkin Patch you will find giant pumpkins and specialty squash of all kinds of strange shapes and colors. There's a corn maze which is hard to master! Tractor rides and horse-and-carriage rides are free! In fact, everything is free, except the beautiful organic pumpkins you buy at the end, that are well priced! There's also hay for kids to throw, historical tractors to climb, a display garden with beautiful kale and other crops, and farm animals: a pig, a donkey, and a goat. Come and get in an autumn mood!
At Christmastime Lane Farms is a delightful place to come and choose a tree. The pine aroma fills the air while lanterns set a wintery mood. The hay all about makes it all feel authentic. There are farm animals, carriage rides, tractors to climb, and the corn maze. You can buy deep red poinsettias and festive decorations.
You can also stop by at any time of year to get fresh produce such as strawberries, summer corn, asparagus, dates, and potatoes.
For a playground nearby, walk to Rhoads Park, a small toddler park with swings.
After, have a cup of tea at Crushcakes in their cute craftsman house or back patio with flowers, or at Old Town Coffee which has outdoor seating with strung lights, or Dean A Coffee Shop which has large windows, outdoor seating under umbrellas, and good egg sandwiches. There are many coffee shops around here!
For a toy store nearby, check out Bennett's Toys & Educational Materials. They have a train set your kids can play with while you look at their toy and book selection.

Great place to bring the whole family. We only just discovered this little gem of Santa Barbara at Halloween (my son insisted on following the maze 3 different nights!). Looking forward to seeing the Christmas look this weekend. I hope everyone who is lucky enough to experience the generousity of this farm makes it a point to say "thank you" for all they do - we are grateful.
