Jupiter Inlet is a happening spot where fishermen hang out on the jetty and surfers come to ride the waves. It's fun to come on a stormy day and watch the surfers gather with enthusiasm to check out the waves. Pelicans gather in the inlet and play in the strong current. The shoreline and sand are grody- when I was there I saw plastic bags, fishing trash, and a dead fish that had been discarded. And it's not the prettiest beach with the ugly highrise condo. After checking out the surf/fishing scene, walk over to Dubois Lagoon for delightful scenery that you can't beat!

Between the beach and the lagoon is a lovely sea wall where lively (sometimes drunk and aggressive) people gather to watch the sunset. A rock pool reflects the orange-pink sky.
When there has been a summer tropical storm with flooding and the locks in the west are opened, then yucky water comes to Jupiter Beach from Jupiter Inlet. This can last for months after a bad storm- don't swim at these times (you will notice that the water is brownish and there is foam on the shore).
Jupiter Beach is one of the few places where you can park your car and watch the ocean (or at least the inlet). It's exciting to come during a rain or thunder storm (at your own risk!) to watch nature stir up some action.
After, check out the places to eat in Jupiter, many with great atmosphere by the water. It's also always nice to have a coffee in Tequesta town.
