It's pleasant to walk along Seabranch Blvd on the wide sidewalk. It is located in Hobe Sound town. There is some car noise when someone drive by, but the views are pretty and it's mostly shady in the early morning and late afternoon. Alongside you, part of the way, is forest with pine trees (and pine cones on the ground), ferns, vines, palmetto, and wildflowers. It is very lush almost like a jungle in some places! The gated communities have attractive entrances you can admire: Preserve at Hobe Sound has a lake with sandstone slab outcroppings on the shore, and Lost Lake has a round, stone guard shack that is cool to see. You can walk three miles and then turn around. You also might be able to dive into the forest and enjoy the trails that are part of Atlantic Ridge Preserve State Park- I am still checking this out...
After, walk across the street to Bagel Bistro and sit outside on their shady patio. It is lovely! There are French-style chairs and round pale wood tables. Inside are beautiful arched windows, and the decor is clean and modern. Their bagels are good.
Around Halloween and Christmastime, cross Crooked Oak Ave and enter at the gate to Forest Oak Lane to see a long row of amazing blow-up decorations that kids love to walk through! The inflatables move, which is a lot of fun: a jack-in-the-box teddy bear pops up, and Santa opens the door to his little van.
Or sit outside in the strong breeze at Starbucks on Federal Hwy near Cove Rd, a six minute drive away.
After, have a swim at Hobe Sound Beach.
Another pleasant walk in this area is Heritage Ridge Walk.
Park at the shopping complex at 5687 SE Crooked Oak Ave. From there you can cross Seabranch Blvd and start your walk on the shady sidewalk.
