Felton town (near Santa Cruz)

San Francisco, CA

It's nice to stop for lunch in Felton town, deep in the forest, fifteen minutes inland from Santa Cruz. There are many charming cafes, and beautiful walks you can do after your meal such as the Garden of Eden trail. Driving through the misty pine tree forest is a wonderful feeling!
Some places to eat that you can try are: White Raven Coffee and Tea with a Western storefront, The Grove Cafe Bakery in a half-timbered house, The Cremer House Alehouse in a historic building, Wild Roots Market & Bakery Natural Foods, and Redwood Pizzeria. There is a huge redwood tree with a historic plaque and a deck built around it, near White Raven Coffee. Felton Music Hall is a cool space with live music. It's fun to walk around this one block of cafes and gift shops.
After, check out Felton Covered Bridge County Park, which has a large playground, lawn, and tall covered bridge.
Another lovely town nearby is Scotts Valley, with good hotels.
